Word of Whiplash : "Idaho 7 is one of the great hops from the USA that has dramatically shaken up our brewery lately. We felt it filled a gap in what we were looking for, namely a versatile hop that is full of all the juicy stone fruit oil found in Antipodean varieties, with at the same time all the exciting and squeaky top notes that the USA has to offer. As its name suggests, Idaho 7 comes from Idaho, in the United States. A country renowned for its barley, cattle and potato production, in addition to hoppy bangers - we think Ireland and Idaho have a few things in common. This beer is made with Maris, wheat, oats, and a touch of Carapils. It was fermented with London Ale III to give it a smoother body. We dry-hopped it exclusively with Idaho 7 in two stages for a total of 20gL, and it shows. The body is light, airy, and almost feathery. The nose offers aromas of mango, guava, grape candy, and pleasant, light woody spices. The palate is bursting with fresh orange juice and peel, grape candy with a hint of passion fruit, and a gentle, slightly bitter finish. A juicy and bountiful wine.
